Back in September, I had a lovely family session with my dear friend Melanie and her beautiful family. It’s always fun photographing kids whom you know, since you can engage them on specific things in their lives and they are comfortable with you. It also makes my job really fun:) Thanks, I had a great time!
Here are a few of the memories we captured:

The Tiny Light Foundation | Newborn Casper
October 1, 2011 baby, family, The Tiny Light Foundation
This week, I had my second session for The Tiny Light Foundation, which is a non profit organization that provides professional photography for children and families that have been faced with a life altering diagnoses.
Meet Casper, a beautiful baby boy born at 26 weeks gestation and already such a feisty little one! He truly is a “tiny” light. It is so amazing how a baby that is so gestationally young can be so perfectly formed and wonderful. Each new life is such a miracle!
This was a really big day for Casper. He was only two days old, and he had his baptism in the morning, his photoshoot in the afternoon, and in the evening, his Mom got to hold him for the very first time. What a great day!
Having two preemies myself, visiting the NICU brought back a lot of memories. It still smells like hand sanitizer:) Amy & William, it was a pleasure to spend time with you and get to know your little man a bit. He did fantastic at his first professional photo shoot! I wish Casper and your family much strength and courage as you continue on this journey. I will rejoice with you when Casper can join you at home!
If you’d like to keep updated with Casper’s story, you can visit his CarePage: http://www.carepages.com/
The nurse was amazing and helped us put William’s wedding band on Casper to show just how small he is. It could slide all the way up his arm, so this puts into perspective just how tiny he is (1 lb. 11 ozs. at birth).

This lovely looking bunch is my sister and her family! It’s been a while since they’ve had a family photo done, so we thought it was high time seeing as how there has been a new addition to the family in the meantime. I had a great time hanging out with my nieces and nephew, too:)

wow- Mel is stunning! It doesn’t seem like she’s old enough to have such a beautiful young daughter either! Great images Amy!
